Hippo & Friends

Happy Thursday, stamping friends.   Today I'm sharing the details for this sweet baby card made using the  Hippo & Friends stamp set and coordinating dies.   So, very cute and the color choice is up to you.

Hippo Happiness Bundle

The dimensions for the card:

8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Card Base (scored and folded at 4-1/4")
3-3/4" x 5" cardstock (Basic White)
3-5/8" x 4-7/8" Designer Series Paper (DSP)
1-1/4" x 4-7/8" cardstock or coordinating DSP

Here's how I put it together:
  1. Stamp Hippo.  Bottom layer is Blushing Bride stamped off once.  Second layer of the Hippo is Blushing Bride full strength.  Face is Basic Gray.
  2. Stamp Balloons.  Soft Seafoam, So Saffron, Blushing Bride.
  3. Die cut second largest roundish shape, Hippo and balloons using coordinating dies.
  4. Create faux suede layer with 1-1/4" x 4-7/8" cardstock, and adhere to 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" DSP.
  5. Adhere 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" DSP to 3-3/4" x 5" cardstock.  Adhere this layer to card base.
  6. Stamp balloon strings on round die shape as shown.
  7. Using Stampin' Dimensionals, adhere the roundish die to front layer as shown.
  8. Attach Soft Seafoam and So Saffron balloons using liquid glue.  Adhere top balloon with Stampin' Dimensional.
  9. Add Hippo with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  10. Stamp sentiment of your choice on 1/2 inch strip of white cardstock.  Add to card.
  11. Tie small bow, using Blushing Bride bakers twine.

Hand-Penned Fun Fold

Hello from Sugar Creek Stamping.   Today's post is featuring the Hand-Penned Suite from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.  The new 2021-2023 In Colors are fabulous! I'm using Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent for this card.  Continue reading for step by step instructions and a full list of supplies.  Hope you enjoy, and check back soon for more inspiration.

Hand-Penned Suite

The dimensions for the card:

4-1/4" x 5-1/2" Card Base
4" x 5-1/4" embossed cardstock
2-3/4" x 8-1/2" cardstock (score at 4-1/4)
3" x 4-1/4" cardstock
2-1/2" x 4" Designer Series Paper (DSP)
2-3/4" x 4" cardstock
2-1/2" x 3-3/4" white (I used water color paper, and die from Scalloped Contours)

Here's how I put it together:
  1. Emboss the 4" x 5-1/4" layer, using the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder.
  2. Apply a messy water color wash using Pool Party ink to the Scalloped Contours die. Set this aside to dry.
  3. Stamp the flower image, using Basic Gray ink and color using Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent Stamping Blends.  Die cut using matching Penned Flowers dies.
  4. Fold the 2-3/4" x 8-1/2" cardstock in half and adhere to the card base at the bottom edge.
  5. Adhere the embossed layer over the card base layer.  You will cover up the back side of the folded piece with the embossed layer, creating a hinge at the bottom of the card.
  6. Add DSP to front of hinged piece.
  7. Adhere the 2-3/4" x 4" cardstock on top of the 3" x 4-1/4" cardstock. Add the water colored die as a top layer.
  8. Using Stampin' Dimensionals add the flower image on top of the water colored die.
  9. Adhere this layer to card front, being careful to apply adhesive only to the bottom section, no glue above 1/2 way up so that the card will open.
  10. Add bow and gems to embellish.   Enjoy!

Thursday Feature 14 January 2021

Welcome, friends and my sweet family to Thursday's feature.   Today I'm sharing the dimensions and step by step instructions to create a quick and easy gift card holder, using the Garden Wishes stamp set in the January - June Mini-catalog.

Garden Wishes

Gather your supplies, there is a complete list of products at the bottom of this post.

4-1/4" x 10-1/2" Mossy Meadow cardstock
2-1/4" x 3-3/4" Designer Series Paper
2-1/2" x 4" Pear Pizzazz cardstock
Largest Stitched Oval die cut
Largest layer Oval Scalloped die cut

Gift Card Holder

Score the 4-1/4" x 10-1/2 "piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock along the long side at 2-1/4 and 5 inches.  Punch the edge closest to the 2-1/4 score line, to create a tab for grabbing the gift card from the pocket.  I used a 1 inch circle punch.

Cut a 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Designer Series Paper and adhere to a 2-1/2" x 4" piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock.  Tie Ribbon on the panel and adhere to the card.  Fold back the flap to inside create pocket.

Stamp Dandelion blowing image on piece of 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of White card stock.  Stamp Dandelion on stitched Oval.  Color with Mossy Meadow and Daffodil Delight blends.

Sugar Creek Stamping

Adhere to scalloped Mossy Meadow oval then adhere to front flap of card, careful to only glue left side to front flap.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stamp sentiment on strip of 3/4 x 3 inch piece of white.  Adhere over oval image. Below is a photo of the inside of the card with the pocket shown.
