Triple Play Thursday 20 August 2020

Welcome everyone!!!  I am so very happy you have joined me today for another edition of Triple Play Thursday.   The stamp set featured this week is Basket of Blooms.   The images are perfect for creating beautiful and cheerful hand made card to share with someone special.

Basket of Blooms

The featured card today uses the basket image and the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. Note the orientation on this card is horizontal, not vertical like the other two cards today.   This layout is very flexible and looks great for both orientations.

Basket of Blooms

Started with a piece of 5" x 4 1/4" Very Vanilla cardstock.  Emboss using the Tasteful Textile embossing folder then wrapped with Linen Thread.  Next, stamp the basket image using Gray Granite Ink on a piece of DSP from the In Good Taste printed paper.  The basket is then hand cut (fussy cut) from the DSP.  The coordinating piece of printed paper is 3" x 4" and is layered behind the Stitched So Sweetly die, slightly offset at an angle.  I'm using the second to largest Stitched So Sweetly die cut from Very Vanilla cardstock.   The flowers are stamped in Gray Granite ink on Very Vanilla and then colored with Calypso Coral (center) and Petal Pink (petal ends) Blends.  The leaves are also stamped in Gray Granite on Very Vanilla cardstock and colored with Old Olive Blends, then fussy cut.  The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings stamped in Early Espresso on a piece of Very Vanilla.  The flowers are adhered using Stampin' Dimensional with Champaign Rhinestones added to make the centers sparkle.  A beautiful card for any occasion, simply adjust the sentiment.

The second card shifts orientation to vertical, and highlights some bright new In Colors, Magenta Madness and Bumblebee.

Basket of Bloom

The background layer of this card is embossed with the Brick & Mortar embossing folder, then spritzed using the Magenta Madness Blends.  Tie a Magenta Madness ribbon around the embossed layer, then adhered to a Thick Whisper White card base.   The printed paper is from the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper.   Next, to create the focal image, the flower pot was stamped on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Memento Black Ink, then colored with Cinnamon Cider Blends and fussy cut out.  The flowers were stamped with Memento Black Ink and the smaller flowers are colored with Mango Melody and fussy cut, and the larger flowers were colored with Magenta Madness and punched out with the coordinating Small Bloom punch.  I've added Wink of Stella to each flower, for a little sparkle.  The leaf images are stamped directly on the Stitched So Sweetly die, and colored with Granny Apple Green.   I adhered the flower pot using Stampin' Dimensional and then added the flowers. The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings stamped in Magenta Madness on a piece of Whisper White.  The finishing touch is adding 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots to the flower centers and sprinkled on the card.

The final card today also uses In Colors, both current year (Just Jade) and last year (Pretty Peacock).

Basket of Blooms

The background layer of this card is embossed with the Brick & Mortar embossing folder on Gray Granite cardstock.  Next tie a Just Jade ribbon around the embossed layer, then adhered to a Just Jade card base.   The Stitched So Sweetly dies is cut from printed paper using the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper.   The 3" x 4" piece is Pretty Peacock card stock, separated using the faux suede technique. Next, to create the focal image, the flower pot was stamped on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Memento Black Ink, and colored with Just Jade Blends and fussy cut out.  The flowers were stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Highland Heather and Pool Party and fussy cut.  The leaf images are stamped in Memento Black Ink and colored with Pretty Peacock Blends.   I adhered the flower pot using Stampin' Dimensional and then added the leaf and flowers images as shown.  The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings, stamped on Whisper White in Memento Black Ink.  The finishing touch is adding In Color Enamel Dots to the flower centers.

I hope you have been inspired to try this layout or use this stamp set to create some cards to share.  If you have any questions, please email me.

Triple Play Thursday 6 August 2020

Welcome to another Triple Play Thursday.   I'm so excited about the cards this week, it is difficult to pick a favorite.   I'm using the Lovely You bundle of products, both the stamp set and the punch are amazing, so versatile.

The card design is basic strips of printed paper or card stock adhered to a standard background layers, but look at the flexibility.  Fun, bright and happy.  Hope you are inspired to make and send a paper hug today!

The feature card today is so very pretty.   The card base color is Purple Posey, partnered with Night of Navy and highlighting the Playing with Patterns printed Paper.   Choose some printed paper that compliment the Purple Posey card base.   The stripes are cut in widths 1/2 inch to 1 inch and the lengths vary to fit the 5 inch x 3 3/4 inch piece of white card stock.  Each strip is punched with the coordinating punch from the Lovely You bundle.  When putting the card front together, I started from the edge and worked toward the middle, overlaying the strips just a bit.  The center strip is the widest and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The sentiment is stamped on a 1/2 inch wide strip of whisper white with the ends punched using the same design as the individual strips. Add a bow and some coordinating resin dots for the finishing touches.

Lovely You

The next card is a "make your own" printed paper.  The flower and leaf images in the stamp set was used to create unique background designs.   The color combination for this card is Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral, and Coastal Cabana. The stamped images are in coordinating ink on each strip of card stock.  Heat emboss a sentiment on a scrap of black cardstock, and add a few rhinestones and black ribbon for the finishing touches.

Lovely You

The third card features one of the new in-colors Misty Moonlight, partnered with coordinating patterned paper designs from the Flowers for Every Season DSP.   The sentiment is perfect for so many occasions or to just send a paper hug.  The enamel dots and ribbon are also Misty Moonlight, pulling everything together.

Lovely You

Sugar Creek Stamping Triple Play Thursday 23 July 2020

Sugar Creek Stamping, Triple Play Thursday 23 July 2020

Welcome to another Triple Play Thursday.   This is where I take one stamp set, one layout and design three cards for you to CASE (copy and selectively edit) or to provide inspiration for your own creativity.   I hope you like the stamp set choice today.

If you followed Tuesday Technique last week you got a glimpse of the Senior Years stamp set.  The character images in this set are adorable and perfect for coloring with your Stampin' Blends, or paper piecing as I did on the "senior" lady card.

A couple of the printed paper may not look familiar; no worries the papers are available for order August 4th in the new holiday mini-catalog.  Don't have a catalog yet?  Send me an email.

Stampin' Up!

Cinnamon Cider is the anchor color for the card below.  I colored the image using Night of Navy and Cinnamon Cider Stampin' Blends. The 1X 5 inch strip uses the faux suede technique on Crumb Cake card stock.  The plaid printed paper coordinates with the card base and pants on the cute retiree.   This plaid design is only one of the color combinations from the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper in the catalog, a must have for this fall.  Add a linen thread knot and sprinkle a few enamel dots for a finishing touch.

Stampin' Up!

The card below features paper piecing, an alternative to coloring.  Just like when we were younger, using paper to dress your paper dolls.   I stamped the images on printed paper for the skirt and umbrella or coordinating cardstock for the blouse.  This technique does require some fussy cutting. I cut out the skirt, blouse and then punched the umbrella with the coordinating punch.   The background printed paper is from Playing with Patterns.  The umbrella and skirt are from the new holiday catalog,Magic in the Night DSP, coming August 4th.

Stampin' Up!

The final card today, very similar to the first card, but I could not help coordinate the printed paper with the Blends colors used on the stamped image.   The dominant color for this card is Misty Moonlight on of the new in-colors.  Night of Navy is the coordinating color, along with Sea Side Spray.   A beautiful color combination to try on your next card.
