Triple Play Thursday 24 September 2020

Welcome, it's Thursday and that means another Triple Play, where I take one stamp set and one card layout and use it to make three beautiful cards.   This week fall is in the air and I have an easy fun fold layout to share.

Gather Together
The Gather Together Bundle is a returning favorite in the holiday catalog.  The stamp set and dies are perfect for making cards and sharing thankful Fall greetings.

The feature card is full of autumn colors.  The card base is Bumble Bee card stock, cut to 5-1/2" X 8-1/2".  For the fun fold, score the long side at 4-1/4" and again at 7-1/2".  Fold the card base in half, then fold the additional score line back, onto the front of the card.   This will leave about and inch of the inside / back of the card showing.

Gather Together

A piece of 5-1/4" x 1-1/4" embossed card stock was adhered to the left side of the front panel.  I used the Wrapped in Texture embossing folder from the holiday catalog.  The printed paper is from Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper.  The piece for the front of the card measures 5-1/4" x 1-5/8".   A second piece of printed paper is added to the inside.  This piece measures 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" inch and is adhered to a piece of 5-1/4" X 4" piece of Whisper White.

Gather Together

The dies from this bundle are beautiful, and create realistic texture as well as cut, all with one pass through the Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine.  The leaves are cut from Cherry Cobbler, Bumble Bee and Soft Suede card stock.  A hint:  if you spritz the card stock with water, (not too wet) using a Stampin' Spritzer before you die cut the leaves it makes beautiful texture.   The labels are from the Tasteful Labels dies. A close up photo below shows the pretty dimension, and how the labels were layered using Stampin' Dimensionals.  The sentiment was stamped using Early Espresso ink on the Bumble Bee label.  A linen thread bow, an acorn punch and Elegant Faceted Gems add a finishing touch.

The second card base is Cherry Cobbler.  I've pulled in the Rustic Retreat stamp set to bring a Christmas card version.  The label is Crumb Cake card stock, cut using one of the Hippo & Friends dies.  The cabin and tree image is stamped off once Crumb Cake ink and the sentiment is stamped using Cherry Cobble ink.  The leaves are cut using Soft Suede and Cherry Cobbler card stock.  The printed paper is from 'Tis the Season Designer Series Paper in the holiday catalog and I've embossed using the Woodland embossing folder.   I hope you like this version.

Gather Together

The final card today uses some non-traditional colors including Misty Moonlight and Seaside Spray.  These two colors are beautiful together.  The printed paper is from the In Color Designer Series Paper. And the embossed layer is using the Pinewood Planks 3D embossing folder.   The label is from Hippo & Friends, stamped with the large leaf image from the Gather Together bundle using Seaside Spray.  The sentiment is stamped with Misty Moonlight on a strip of Whisper White.   The bow is tied using In Color Misty Moonlight ribbon, and a few Elegant Faceted Gems provide the finishing touch.

Gather Together

I hope you enjoyed today's cards and are inspired to make your own version.

Triple Play Thursday 17 September 2020

Thank you for joining me today for another Triple Play Thursday.   Using one stamp set and one card layout  we will make three different cards.   This weeks card layout uses the dies from the Hallows Night Magic Bundle.  But you can use any layered dies for this layout, or cut card stock and layer.  I hope I can inspire you with today's projects.

The featured card this week pulls in several elements from the Hallows Night Magic Bundle.  The card base is Basic Black, and the printed paper is a piece of 3" X 5" Magic in This Night Designer Series Paper.  On the smaller label from the bundle, I've stamped the cobweb and flower image from the stamp set and colored with Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive Blends.   The word Halloween is from the Word Wishes dies, cut from Black Glitter paper.  The larger dies is also cut from Black Glitter Paper, as well as the Bat dies. I used Stampin Dimensionals to adhere the labels and the bats dies.  A bow tied from Glittered Organdy Ribbon adds the finishing touch.

Hallows Night Magic

Here is a close up of the labels, and the shading with the Stampin Blends.

Changing gears complete, another holiday card.  The card base is Night of Navy and the printed paper is from Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper.   I've brought in a sentiment from For Unto Us stamp set from the holiday catalog.  I heat embossed the sentiment using gold embossing powder on the smaller label that was cut from Night of Navy. The larger dies is cut from vellum card stock.  For finishing touches, I've tucked some gold leaf elements from the Forever Gold Laser Cut Specialty Paper from the Annual catalog, Gilded Gems and a bow tied from Navy Ribbon from the Playing with Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack.  The picture does no reflect the sparkle on this card, from the paper to the gems, with the sentiment and leaf elements.  Beautiful!

For Unto Us

The final card highlights colors pulled from a piece of printed paper from the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper.  The card base is Pretty Peacock.  The largest label is cut from Just Jade card stock.  These two colors go together like peanut butter and jelly, yummy.

The sentiment is from the So Sentimental stamp set, stamped using Pretty Peacock, then add some flower images stamped using Bumble Bee ink, stamped off once.  The flower image is from Beautiful Friendship, but you can use your favorite flower image.  The flower die is cut using Bumble Bee card stock, using the die from the Halloween Magic Dies, and the stem is from the Sunflowers dies, cut from Pretty Peacock.  For a finishing touch, add a bow tied using white ribbon from Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack.

So Sentimental

I hope you are inspired by one of these cards.  You can see how versatile the layout, ranging from Halloween to Christmas or to celebrate a special friend.

If you need supplies, I would so appreciate your business.  All orders over $50 will receive a gift from me.  If your order is over $150 no need to enter the code you will get rewards from Stampin' Up! and I'll send you a gift as well.

Triple Play Thursday 10 September 2020

Welcome to Sugar Creek Stamping.  In Triple Play Thursday we will use one stamp set with one card layout to create three beautiful projects.  I hope you are inspired to create something beautiful to share with your friends.

The cards this week are using the Posted For You Bundle, and the coordinating Festive Post stamp set from the holiday catalog.

Posted For You

The first card today is using the Posted For You Bundle from the annual catalog.  I've created a sweet Happy Birthday card.  The card base is Thick Whisper White, with an embossed 5-1/4" X 4" piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I used the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder, then spritzed the background with a Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker.

For the stamped image, I used Basic Gray Ink then colored using Mango Melody and Just Jade Stampin' Blends.  Next, punch out the image and layer onto a piece of Bumble Bee card stock.  The printed paper is cut 1-1/2" X 5-1/4" from the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper.  I used the Tailored Tag punch to flag the end.

Posted For You
The sentiment is stamped using Basic Gray ink on a 1/2" strip of Whisper White.  A Bumble Bee Gingham Ribbon adds a finishing touch.  Hope you like this card.

A close up helps to highlight the Blends coloring, and spritzing with a Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker.

Posted For You

The second "spooky" card uses the coordinating Festive Post stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.  The card base is a piece of Basic Black cardstock.  The 5-1/4" X 4" layer is embossed using the Cobwebs 3D embossing folder.   This embossing folder, Metallic Mesh ribbon, Iridescent Pearls and Magic in This Night Designer Series Paper are all from the Magic In This Night Suite of products in the Holiday Catalog.

I stamped the brooms using Crumb Cake ink, and then added the sentiment from the Festive Post stamp set with Memento Black Ink.  Layer the punched image on top of a piece of Metallic Mesh ribbon, then add a couple Iridescent Pearls for some sparkle.

Festive Post
The shimmer on the cobweb background is created using Frost White Shimmer Paint and a Stampin' Spritzer.  Mix a couple of drops of shimmer paint with 70% rubbing alcohol and shake to combine.  This is a beautiful touch to add another layer of dimension to your card.

A close up below gives you a look at this version of spritzing using Frost White Shimmer Paint, rubbing alcohol and a Stampin' Spritzer.

The final card also uses the Festive Post stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.  An easy to duplicate Christmas card design if you need to make in bulk.  The card base is Cherry Cobbler cardstock, with a piece of Real Red that measures 5-1/4" X 4" embossed with the Dainty Diamond embossing folder.

The printed paper is from 'Tis The Season Designer Series Paper.  The stamped image is adhered using Stampin' Dimensionals on top of a large bow tied using Real Red Braided Linen Trim.  All found in the Holiday Catalog.  If you don't have a catalog, please send me an email, I'll get one in the mail to you.

Festive Post
