Technique Tuesday 4 August 2020

Technique Tuesday

I've got a fun technique today that provides another option to heat embossing.   The technique is called emboss resist.   The process is quick, fun and easy and the results are bright and cheerful.

The process is easy starting with basic heat embossing.  Choice an image from your favorite stamp set.  Today's card features the flower image from the Tasteful Touches stamp set.   Using Versamark ink, stamp up the image and then heat emboss with your favorite powder, I'm using white embossing powder today.

Now the fun begins, add bright happy color.  I selected Mango Melody, Highland Heather and Melon Mambo ink for this card.   The color is applied with make-up brushes (my preference, sponges or daubers also work great).  Ink up the brush, rub off the first bit of ink to help distribute the ink evenly over the surface.  Then apply each color of ink.  I keep a brush for each color.

After you apply each color of ink with the make-up brushes, wipe off the ink from the top of each stamped image.  This makes the image really pop!

The finishing touches are some ribbon, sequins, and a sentiment that was also heat embossed on a scrap of black card stock.

Hope you enjoy today's technique and card.  Try it out and share your version on my Facebook page.
